We're helping the next generation of physicians.
Thalamus.org provides funding to medical students fromsocioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, including medical students of color, to apply to and interview for residency. We are committed to improving the process, so that it is fair and accessible to all students.
The medical students whom we teach today will become the doctors of tomorrow, carrying our values, skills and our hopes for the profession into the future.
Apply to residency with financial peace-of-mind.
Awards from Thalamus.org may be used to cover application fees, interview costs (travel costs, virtual interviewing equipment, professional dress etc.), academic conference attendance and professional leadership experiences. The scholarships are intended to promote the education of the medical students by providing increased access to residency programs.
Grant Support
The award was specifically designed to cover the costs associated with application to medical residency programs. Traditionally, these costs are not covered by student loans requiring applicants to pay out of pocket or taking on high interest rate loans or credit card debt.
Collaborate on Research
Thalamus.org strives to expand and build upon existing research regarding how medical students navigate the residency application process. We are always open to collaboration to improve insight and analysis of the residency recruitment, interview and match processes.
